Full Job Description

Director of Marketing & Brand Strategy

We're hiring a Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy to run everything we put in front of the public across multiple markets. It's a big job and a slightly unusual one, so here's the honest version.

The unusual part of this job

Everything we produce has to work on two audiences at once.

The first is the client. They're making one of the biggest financial decisions of their life, they're nervous about it, and they're comparing us against everyone else.

The second is the professional who guides that client through it. We're recruiting those people constantly, and they're sizing us up too. They want to know whether our brand makes their job easier or harder.

Same ads. Same website. Same social feed. Both audiences see all of it, and what impresses one can easily turn the other off.

Most marketers have only had to solve for one. If you've done both, you already know why it's harder than it sounds.

What you'd own

Pretty much everything with our name on it. Brand and positioning. Paid ads on Meta, Google, and wherever else we can find the right people. The website and the automation behind it. Social, content, and our reviews across multiple locations and hundreds of individual profiles. Creative production, which means both salaried and contracted design teams, plus a request process that keeps them from getting buried. Recruiting campaigns. The internal work that makes professionals spread nationally feel like one company.

You'd have a team of five working with you. Your job is deciding what all should be doing and making sure it gets done.

What we're looking for

Someone with ideas we haven't heard before. Competent campaign management isn't hard to find. What's rare is a person who shows up with an angle nobody in our space is using and then actually gets it built.

Past that:

You hit deadlines. Every time, not most of the time.
You can run several people and a dozen projects at once without anything quietly slipping.
You know social advertising and PPC at a real level. Not agency-oversight level. You can look at a campaign, tell us why the conversion rate is what it is, and go fix it.
You catch the details. Copy, design, spelling, tone, all of it.

How we work

We move fast and we don't ship sloppy work. Both matter here.

Deadlines are real. When something is due, it goes out. But nothing goes out with a typo, a bad layout, or messaging that doesn't sound like us. A spelling error costs us more than it would cost most companies, because our audience is deciding whether to trust us with something that really matters to them. Careless work answers that question for them.

You'd report to the VP of Operations and have a short path to the people making decisions. There's no committee standing between you and a yes.

We also expect you to use AI tools well. A small team that uses them well gets more done than a big team that doesn't.

This is probably not for you if

You want to set strategy and hand execution to somebody else. You'd be doing both here.
You're used to walking into a job with the playbook already written.
You'd rather rerun the campaigns that worked at your last company than come up with new ones.

This is a full-time, in-house, salaried, onsite role in Tampa. Remote, contracted marketing specialists or consultants will not be considered.
