WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting distributors, dealers and boatbuilders with installing YANMAR engines and engine control systems. Your primary focus will be assisting our customers with non-standard installations and situations, documenting these for future reference, and advising our system design engineers of market requirements for future developments.
You will work with suppliers to develop auxiliary systems and components as needed for specific applications. You will visit distributors, dealers, boatbuilders and suppliers for specific projects and attend trade shows to meet with our various partners, so travelling is an essential part of your job.
As part of a worldwide engineering team, you’ll also take on additional projects and tasks as assigned. This is your dream job if you’re ready to take on a challenging role in a growing company.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
Direct and advise distributors, boatbuilders, and OEMs on new or non-standard systems.
Support our distributor and dealer network with troubleshooting existing installations.
Review installation applications and advise customers on changes needed.
Provide ongoing training and sales support to distributor and dealer staff.
Create and make formal presentations to distributors and dealers.
Contribute and work with the global engineering, after-sales, and quality assurance teams.

The ideal candidate:
Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience;
At least 5 years of engine experience; marine diesel experience preferred;
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suit, basic CAD.
Engine and electrical system troubleshooting and CAN communications;
The following mindset qualities apply to you: Result driven, creative mind, communicative, problem solver, pro-active and strong focus on relationship management;
Ability to communicate and travel, including internationally.
Work location:
Your regular workplace is Clearwater, Florida, In this position, you will occasionally travel (10-20%) to customers, distributors, company headquarters, and trade shows.
