Hiring for (1) full-time or (2) part-times Cooks/Dietary Aides

Standard Requirements:

Is knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment
Supports and cooperates with specific procedures and programs for:
Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs
Confidentiality of all data including resident, employee and operations data
Quality Improvement and compliance with all regulatory requirements
Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal discriminatory behavior
Supports and participates in common teamwork:
Cooperates and works together with all co-workers
Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations
Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns
Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned

Essential Duties:

Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in accordance with portion control, therapeutic diets, scheduled menus, and sanitary regulations.
Review menus prior to preparation of food and inspect special diet trays to ensure accurate food preparation.
Wash, cut, slice, and prepare fruits and vegetables for salads, desserts or further cooking.
Pan food for service on tray line.
Cook food progressively, in a timely manner, to present the food in its best possible condition.
Assists in unloading, inspecting and storing incoming food and verify packing lists.
Keeps kitchen clean and orderly by washing counters and cooking utensils, and by cleaning stoves, ovens, grills and refrigerators.
Plates food to order and ensures that meal times are met.
Ensures that food is served and maintained at the correct temperature.
Maintains temperature logs.
Is knowledgeable in food safety, sanitation, and time & temperature requirements.
Understands recipes and portion control.

Skills and Qualifications:

Must have ServSafe Certification or be willing to obtain.
