Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients to support meal assembly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Support cooking activities by preparing ingredients and following recipes under supervision
- Handle food items safely during storage, handling, and serving processes to prevent contamination
- Help with meal plating and serving to ensure timely delivery of quality dishes
- Assist in menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients for upcoming meals or catering events
- Follow all safety protocols related to kitchen equipment, knife handling, and food handling procedures
What we're looking for:
- Positive attitude and good communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, on their own, or in teams
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to read and understand usage instructions for products and supplies
- Familiarity with food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within the food industry or restaurant environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting culinary staff and serving others
- Basic knife skills and experience with meal preparation are advantageous
- Willingness to learn new culinary techniques and contribute to menu planning efforts
