Full Job Description

Position Summary

This is a 1099 position and pay will be determined by cases managed and completed. The Radiologist is a licensed physician responsible for interpreting diagnostic imaging studies and providing accurate, timely diagnostic reports to support patient care. The Radiologist collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to diagnose and, when applicable, treat medical conditions using imaging technologies. Responsibilities include oversight of imaging quality and safety standards, compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining professional competency through continuing medical education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Interpret and provide diagnostic reports for imaging studies including:
X-ray
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Communicate urgent, critical, or unexpected findings to referring providers in a timely manner.
Consult with referring physicians regarding diagnostic findings and appropriate imaging recommendations.
Perform image-guided procedures and interventions if appropriately trained and credentialed.
Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and imaging quality assurance programs.
Participate in peer review, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
Maintain complete and accurate medical records and imaging reports in accordance with organizational, state, and federal requirements.
Supervise and collaborate with radiologic technologists and other imaging staff as appropriate.
Participate in departmental meetings, medical staff activities, and continuing education programs.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and accreditation standards.

Required Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program.
Current, unrestricted Florida Physician License or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or equivalent recognized board.
Current DEA registration, if required by job duties.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
Ability to obtain and maintain medical staff privileges.

Preferred Qualifications

Fellowship training in a radiology subspecialty.
Prior experience in hospital, outpatient imaging center, or multi-specialty practice.
Experience with PACS, RIS, and electronic health record systems.
Advanced certifications and credentials relevant to assigned duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of diagnostic imaging modalities and interpretation techniques.
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Knowledge of radiation safety principles and quality assurance practices.
Commitment to patient-centered care and professional ethics.
Ability to manage workflow efficiently while maintaining diagnostic accuracy.

Physical Requirements

Ability to remain seated or stand for extended periods.
Ability to use computer systems and imaging workstations for prolonged periods.
Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically.
Ability to perform procedures requiring fine motor skills, when applicable.

Work Environment

Medical office, imaging center, ambulatory surgery center, and/or hospital environment.
Exposure to healthcare and clinical settings.
Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases; appropriate precautions and personal protective equipment will be provided.
