Position Overview
ExoAtlet is seeking an Associate Biomedical Engineer – Clinical Applications to support the development, implementation, demonstration, and technical support of our robotic rehabilitation exoskeleton systems.
This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career biomedical engineer with a strong interest in robotics, biomechanics, human movement, and medical technology. The position combines hands-on technical work with customer interaction, clinical applications, product demonstrations, and business development support.
The Associate Biomedical Engineer will work closely with the Manager of Business Development, clinical partners, engineering teams, and customers to help ensure our technology is effectively implemented and utilized in rehabilitation settings.
The ideal candidate is technically curious, hands-on, highly adaptable, and comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with rehabilitation robotics or exoskeletons is not required; a willingness and ability to learn the clinical application of the technology is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Clinical Applications
- Develop a strong understanding of the mechanical, electrical, software, and control systems that make up ExoAtlet's robotic exoskeletons.
- Support the setup, fitting, operation, and troubleshooting of exoskeleton systems during demonstrations and clinical sessions.
- Develop expertise in biomechanics, gait mechanics, human movement, and the clinical applications of robotic rehabilitation.
- Work with clinicians to understand patient needs and help determine appropriate applications of the technology.
- Provide technical and clinical support to customers during product implementation and early adoption.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues and communicate problems effectively to engineering and product development teams.
- Gather customer feedback and translate clinical and technical observations into actionable product feedback.
Product Demonstration & Customer Support
- Conduct in-person and virtual demonstrations of robotic rehabilitation exoskeleton systems.
- Explain device functionality, technical concepts, safety considerations, and clinical applications to clinicians, administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with customer training and education on device operation and appropriate clinical use.
- Support clinicians during patient sessions and assist with troubleshooting when necessary.
- Build professional relationships with physical therapists, physiatrists, rehabilitation directors, physicians, biomedical engineers, and healthcare administrators.
Business Development & Relationship Management
- Support outreach and relationship development with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, and other healthcare organizations.
- Assist with lead generation, follow-up activities, and account management initiatives.
- Support the sales process from initial outreach through product evaluation and implementation.
- Participate in conferences, trade shows, demonstrations, and clinical events representing ExoAtlet and its rehabilitation technologies.
- Communicate customer needs, market feedback, and competitive observations to business development and leadership teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong foundational understanding of biomechanics, human movement, mechanical systems, and/or electrical systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Willingness to travel for customer visits, demonstrations, conferences, and clinical support activities.
- Passion for medical technology, robotics, rehabilitation, and improving patient mobility outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with mechanical and/or electronic components, prototyping, testing, or troubleshooting.
- Experience with robotics, mechatronics, controls, sensors, embedded systems, or human-machine interfaces.
- Coursework or experience involving biomechanics, gait analysis, rehabilitation engineering, or assistive technology.
- Experience working with CAD, 3D printing, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, MATLAB, Python, or similar engineering tools.
- Experience with medical devices, rehabilitation technology, or healthcare environments.
- Experience presenting technical information or demonstrating technology to others.
- Familiarity with exoskeletons, rehabilitation robotics, prosthetics, orthotics, or other wearable technologies is a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
