Full Job Description

Premier boutique firm is seeking a Senior Calendar Clerk/Litigation Paralegal to join their team. Must have 8+ years of litigation calendaring and/or paralegal experience in a law firm environment, as well as extensive hands-on experience with CompuLaw is strongly preferred. Salary is up to $135K commensurate with experience. Firm offers hybrid work schedule, casual dress code, 401K and profit sharing.

Primary Responsibilities

Litigation Calendaring

Manage and maintain the firm’s litigation calendar using CompuLaw.
Review court filings, orders, notices, correspondence, discovery, and other case materials to identify and calendar applicable deadlines.
Calculate deadlines using CompuLaw and independently verify deadlines through applicable federal and state rules, local rules, and judge-specific procedures.
Manually calculate deadlines when appropriate.
Monitor changes to court rules and calendaring requirements and communicate relevant changes to attorneys and staff.
Consult with attorneys and case teams regarding calendaring questions and deadline calculations.
Prepare and distribute Outlook calendar invitations and other deadline notifications.
Prepare weekly attorney calendar reports and maintain firmwide trial, arbitration, hearing, and oral argument calendars.
Calendar and coordinate CourtCall/remote appearances and related deadlines.

Litigation & Paralegal Support

Draft and assist with preparation and finalization of pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
Cite-check and proofread briefs and other filings.
Prepare and update tables of authorities and tables of contents.
Prepare and electronically file documents in California state and federal courts.
Coordinate service of pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
Coordinate with process servers, couriers, court reporters, videographers, interpreters, and other litigation vendors.
Prepare exhibits, hearing and deposition binders, deposition kits, appellate records, trial notebooks, and other case materials.
Assist with document productions and maintain production and exhibit logs.
Conduct legal and factual research, including public-record searches.
Communicate professionally with court personnel, opposing counsel, clients, witnesses, and vendors.
Provide additional litigation and administrative support as needed.

Experience & Qualifications

8+ years of litigation calendaring and/or senior litigation paralegal experience, preferably with a litigation-focused law firm.
Advanced CompuLaw experience strongly preferred. Ideal candidate should be capable of independently managing a sophisticated litigation calendar with minimal training or supervision.
Extensive knowledge of California state and federal calendaring rules, including the CCP, CRC, FRCP, FRAP, local rules, and judge-specific rules.
Significant experience independently calculating and verifying litigation deadlines.
Experience with California state and federal electronic filing systems.
Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and the lifecycle of a case.
Bachelor’s degree, associate degree in paralegal studies, or certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program preferred.
