Schools want nurses to give students real-word training!

Health Sciences is a growing field and there is a strong demand for skilled professionals who can work in that industry. At Lake County Schools, we want to make sure our students are ready for those careers. That is why we look for experienced health professionals to provide our students with real world, career specific training. Currently, we are seeking to hire registered nurses with at least four years' experience to become Health Sciences Education Teachers in our high schools.

These teachers will help ensure students are prepared for entry-level positions as a Certified Nursing Assistant once they graduate from high school. Four years of industry experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in the nursing field is required. Health Science Education Teachers are responsible for coordinating testing for students through prometrics, coordinating scheduling for all clinicals, and ensuring compliance with Florida Board of Nursing requirements.

Our health science education teachers work from 7:10 am – 2:40 pm, Monday through Friday and have the summers off. We offer generous time off including spring break, winter break and 5 holidays.

REQUIREMENTS:

RN License required
Three years of industry experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience in nursing field

Some Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Coordinate testing for students through prometrics
Coordinate scheduling for all aspects of clinicals
Ensure accuracy when complying with FL Board of nursing requirements e.g. applications
Ensure students meet the minimum qualifications
Coordinate background checks
Maintain good working relationships with the community in order to renew contracts
