Full Job Description

Immigration paralegal:

Soto Law is a fast-growing, bilingual law firm specializing in immigration and personal injury matters. We are seeking a Bilingual Spanish speaking paralegal in our White Plains, NY office.

The position requires attention to detail, responsiveness with clients and understanding of how to fill out immigration forms, motions, and correspondence.

Previous work experience as a legal assistant or a paralegal is a MUST. We want someone who is dedicated to helping immigrants in this difficult legal process, as well as passionate about their career in the legal field.

You must be able to understand the basics of computer softwares such as: Microsoft Office and Google. You must also be able to handle several different databases of information. You must work with urgency and treat each new case with care. If you aren’t 100% confident managing data and people, you are not the right person for this job.

Other requirements include the following for Immigration paralegal:

Knowledge on preparing all family immigration applications to include but not limited to: I-589, I-765, I-130, I-485, I-601, I-918, I-192, and other applications as necessary;
Knowledge of filing motions to reopen and reconsider with USCIS ;
Knowledge of filing applications with USCIS;
Knowledge of the organization and composition of business letters, minutes, reports and numerical and tabular materials;
Knowledge of correct English and Spanish language usage, spelling, punctuation and legal terminology;
Ability to multitask independently and demonstrate sound judgment;
Attention to detail;
Ability to speak to clients in a professional and caring manner;
Knowledge of basic google applications: Docs, Sheets, Calendar;
Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office software;
Ability to follow instructions;
Ability to handle the stress associated with management of cases and meet deadlines;
Ability to communicate effectively;
Ability to transcribe documents from written oral or computer generated formats;

Immigration paralegal Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Degree or ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate and 2+ years of law firm experience, although exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered.
High degree of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Immigration paralegal Experience:

Microsoft Office: 5 years (Preferred)
Paralegal: 3 years (Preferred)

Language:

Spanish (Required)
Results oriented with strong time and project management skills and able to multitask and meet tight deadlines.

Pay: starting at $50,000.00 per year
