Full Job Description

Quality Manager - Advanced Vehicle Assemblies, LLC - Milan, MI

Advanced Vehicle Assemblies (AVA) Milan supports North American customers and company plants in Roseville, MI and Monterrey, MS. We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Quality Manager to lead plant quality operations, drive continuous improvement, and serve as the primary customer liaison for quality concerns.

Position Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for the quality of all parts produced at the Milan plant. This role partners closely with project engineering, production leadership, supervisors, and quality team members to support new program launches, APQP/AQP activities, PSW/PPAP requirements, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and customer quality expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Direct and support the work efforts of quality department employees and assigned hourly team members.

· Ensure work standards, quality responsibilities, and inspection requirements are completed effectively.

· Oversee disposition of manufactured parts and coordinate return of defective material from customers or suppliers.

· Supervise Quality Team at the Plant and support employee evaluations, coaching, and development.

· Participate in establishing and revising quality systems and controls in alignment with customer requirements and expectations.

· Develop and implement inspection and sampling techniques to ensure finished products meet specifications and standards.

· Lead problem-solving efforts through teamwork, training, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-through.

· Visit customers as needed to resolve internal and external quality issues and maintain clear communication.

· Support the Plant Manager in planning, developing, implementing, and controlling initiatives that improve quality performance.

· Oversees and manages the plant’s IATF and ISO 9001 certifications, including maintaining compliance, supporting audits, coordinating corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement within the quality management system.

· Support timely completion of initial sample packages and customer submissions.

· Stay current on quality developments, tools, systems, and best practices.

· Promote employee morale, recognition, accountability, and respectful workplace practices.

· Participate in employee relations, communication, apprentice and job training, safety, and employee development programs.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Corporate Quality Manager and Plant Manager.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:

· Associate degree in Quality, Business Management, Engineering, or a related field required.

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.

·CQE and CQA certification preferred.

· Minimum of three years of supervisory or management experience in the stamping industry required; five or more years preferred.

·Strong knowledge of manufacturing quality systems, SPC, control charts, gaging methods, APQP, PPAP, DOE, and FMEA.

·Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with employees and customers.

· Strong problem-solving, planning, math, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry skills.

This is an exempt position based in Milan, MI. The Quality Manager will spend significant time on the plant floor and may be required to travel with little or no advance notice. The role typically requires at least 8 to 10 hours per day, with weekend work as needed. The position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, travel, and communicate accurately with employees and customers.
