- Vascular Ultrasound Technologist – ARDMS (RVT), CCI (RVS), or ARRT (VS), BLS
- Echocardiography Technologist (Echo Tech) – ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS), BLS
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist – NMTCB (CNMT) or ARRT (N), BLS
Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures using advanced medical equipment to support accurate diagnosis and effective patient care. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to produce high-quality images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with clinical protocols. Duties
- Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures including X-ray, MRI, CT scans, mammography, DEXA scans, nuclear medicine, PET scans, fluoroscopy, and sonography with accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort while applying aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
- Operate complex medical imaging equipment safely and efficiently, including Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) management systems such as Epic.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to optimize image quality and ensure proper interpretation.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed in electronic medical records (EMR systems), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist in interventional radiology procedures by providing real-time imaging support using fluoroscopy.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to radiation exposure, infection control, and patient privacy regulations.
- Conduct routine maintenance on imaging equipment and report any malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
- Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques through ongoing education.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating diverse medical imaging modalities including MRI, CT, X-ray, mammography, DEXA scan, nuclear medicine, PET scan, fluoroscopy, and sonography.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to accurately capture diagnostic images.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to radiology and diagnostic procedures.
- Experience managing electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or EMR platforms.
- Ability to interpret complex images for quality assurance and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and aseptic techniques essential for patient care.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Demonstrated hospital experience with a focus on diagnostic radiology settings.
- Understanding of medical equipment operation including PACS systems used for image storage and retrieval.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies such as MRI software updates or advanced nuclear medicine procedures.
