Job Summary

A well-established public accounting firm in Temecula, CA is seeking an experienced Tax Manager for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a public accounting tax professional who enjoys managing complex tax engagements, advising clients, reviewing a variety of tax returns, and mentoring developing staff.

The Tax Manager will join a collaborative, supportive team environment with strong leadership, professional growth opportunities, and exposure to a diverse client base that includes individuals, businesses, trusts, estates, and nonprofit organizations. This is a strong opportunity for someone who values client service, technical excellence, and a clear path for continued advancement in public accounting.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and review a broad range of tax returns, including individual, partnership, S Corporation, C Corporation, fiduciary and trust, gift tax, and nonprofit returns.
Oversee multiple tax engagements from planning through completion while ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and compliance requirements are met.
Conduct tax research and provide tax planning strategies for clients across federal, state, and local tax matters.
Review staff work for accuracy, provide technical guidance, and support the development of junior team members.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication, consultative support, and exceptional service.
Collaborate with firm leadership on client advisory services, tax planning opportunities, and process improvements.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $120,000 to $140,000 per year.
