Location: Private home property with acreage in the Fallbrook (quiet, scenic rural/suburban spot)
Compensation: $18–$23/hour (based on experience and reliability)
Hours: Strictly part-time – 12 hours per week to start. 3 hours in the evening 4 pm to 7 pm. Thursday to Sunday.
About the Position
I'm a professional dog trainer operating a boutique, personalized dog training business from my home on a beautiful property. We keep things small and calm—limited dogs, lots of individual attention, no high-volume kennel vibe.
I'm looking for a reliable, dog-loving part-time assistant to help keep everything running smoothly. This role blends hands-on dog care (feeding, walking, cleaning) with light housekeeping around the home/kennel areas and basic property upkeep as well as feeding some chicken and sheep. It's perfect if you enjoy dogs, prefer a peaceful outdoor-indoor mix, and like pitching in on varied tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily dog care: Feeding meals, providing fresh water, short walks/exercise sessions (on-leash or in fenced areas), monitoring for any issues, and giving plenty of affection
- Kennel & dog area maintenance: Scooping waste, cleaning runs/kennels, washing bowls, light sanitizing
- Light in-home tasks: Picking up the living room (tidying toys, blankets, etc.), loading/unloading the dishwasher, wiping counters, quick laundry for dog towels/bedding
- Light Ranch Hand: Feeding/Watering sheep and chickens. Cleaning the coop and run.
- Basic property help: Light landscaping like raking leaves, weeding small areas, watering plants, keeping paths clear
- Occasional client support: Greeting owners during drop-off/pick-up, helping get dogs settled
- Assisting with training prep when needed (holding a leash, setting up gear—great chance to observe/learn pro techniques)
What We're Looking For
- True love for dogs and comfort around them (all sizes/breeds; experience a plus, but attitude and reliability matter more—we'll show you our routines)
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
- Physically comfortable with moderate activity: walking dogs, light lifting 50 lbs, being outdoors in different weather
- Clean, non-smoking (for the dogs' sake), and strong personal hygiene
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (property isn't on major public transit routes)
- Positive, friendly vibe with good communication
- Bonus: Any background in pet sitting, dog walking, home organizing, light cleaning, or yard work
Why This Role Stands Out
- Spend your shifts in a gorgeous, spacious acreage setting with fresh air and room to breathe
- Work directly with happy, well-cared-for dogs every day
- Flexible part-time hours that fit your life—no graveyard shifts or rigid full-time commitment
- Opportunity to pick up dog handling and training insights over time if you're interested
- Small, direct operation—just you helping me keep things running smoothly

- Your first name and phone/email
- A quick note on why this appeals to you + any relevant experience (even casual pet care or home help counts)

I'll get back to serious applicants within a couple of days to chat briefly and set up a low-key visit to meet the dogs and see the property. (Dog lovers only—this role is all about the pups!)
