As a GCFM Medical Assistant, you will be a trusted resource to the team and making a significant contribution to patient care. What you'll do every day (Back-office assignments)

Set the tone for the patient’s encounter, embodying professionalism, respect, and compassion
Interview patients and document medical history in EMR
Chart prep (obtaining and coordinating records)
Renew/update/reconcile medications
Obtain patient vital signs
Order appropriate testing
Update medical records
Assist during medical examinations
Produce and distribute letters, faxes, and forms
Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Perform ECG's, spirometry, ABI, and SVN treatments
Process urine drug screen, pregnancy tests, cultures, and STI cultures
Administer Medicare cognitive testing
Administer pediatric and adult immunizations and medication injections
Obtain reports from ASIIS and update historical immunizations
Provide excellent customer service embracing GCFM’s Core Values while maintaining the confidentiality of patient data

Essential Skills

Minimum 1-2 years in a medical office setting, preferably family practice
Must be able to demonstrate strong computer skills. Nextgen EMR experience is preferred.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for helping small businesses to succeed
Strong sense of urgency and resourceful self-starter
Curious to find solutions to issues and/or gaps
Thrives in the challenge of a fast-paced environment
Excellent priority setting skills with the flexibility and adaptability to pivot and respond to pressing business needs

Required Certifications

Registered Medical Assistant from an accredited organization. Active RMA or CCMA is highly desired for this role, or a willingness to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
Current CPR BLS/Provider certified training

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
