Full Job Description

The team is seeking a motivated Litigation Associate/Counsel Attorney to join our Phoenix, AZ office. This role is ideal for an attorney with a general litigation background who is interested in developing or expanding their experience in insurance defense. You will have the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact matters, collaborate with experienced colleagues nationwide, and sharpen your litigation skills across a variety of practice areas.

This is a hybrid position offering flexibility and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a litigation caseload independently from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents
Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery and taking depositions
Attend and represent clients at court hearings, mediations, and other proceedings
Communicate effectively with clients and provide regular case updates and strategic guidance
Collaborate with attorneys and legal professionals across offices to deliver high-quality results

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Admission to practice law in Arizona (required)
Minimum of 2+ years of litigation experience (general litigation backgrounds encouraged to apply)
Interest in or exposure to insurance defense matters is a plus
Experience with areas such as general liability, premises liability, medical malpractice, transportation, products liability, or employment litigation is helpful but not required
Strong experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions is essential
Excellent analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Strong organizational and case management abilities
Deposition, court appearance, or trial experience is a plus
