Full Job Description

Role Overview: This role will be responsible for the accurate and timely intake, coding, routing, processing, payment preparation, and reconciliation of vendor invoices and employee expense activity. The ideal candidate is not simply an invoice processor; they exercise sound judgment, maintain organized support, identify exceptions before payment, and help strengthen controls as the organization grows. This position reports to the Controller and works closely with operational leaders, approvers, vendors, and the broader finance team.

Core Responsibilities:

Full Cycle Accounts Payable Processing

· Receive invoices, validate documentation, code bills, route approvals, prepare payment batches, resolve exceptions, and maintain clean AP aging
· Understand how to code bills based on entity, department, location, and GL
· Reconcile AP activity, vendor statements, and AP aging; investigate and resolve unapplied credits, duplicate invoices, aged balances, and other discrepancies

Vendor Management

· Respond professionally and promptly to vendor questions regarding invoice status, payment timing, credits, and account discrepancies
· Assist with vendor onboarding and changes to vendor banking or mailing information, following required independent-verification procedures
· Maintain vendor records, including W-9s, payment terms, remit-to information, and required documentation

Build and Improve Scalable Accounts Payable Process

· Identify opportunities to streamline existing AP processes and will proactively work to institute new SOPs to ensure integrity of financial data
· Work with the Controller to maintain and Create SOPs for vendor management, invoices collection, AP processing, and cash controls
· Help evaluate, roll out, and integrate systems such as AP and Expense management

Basic Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree
2-4 years of experience
Experience in a multi-location, multi-department, or multi-entity environment
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Working Knowledge of basic accounting practices
· Experience with approval workflows and payment controls
· Exposure to audits, lender reporting, acquisition integration, or process cleanups.

Preferred Skills:

· Healthcare, hospice, home health, physician-practice, or other regulated-services
· Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
· Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
· Eagerness to learn
· Clear, effective communication skills-written and verbal

Work Environment:

· Employment Type: Full-Time position
· Location: Role is based at Uplift Hospice’s Corporate Office in Scottsdale, AZ While-in office presence is preferred, hybrid arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates.
· Work Environment: Standard office setting with prolonged periods of computer uses and screen time
· Travel: Minimal travel required, but occasional travel may be necessary for team meetings, training, or site visits
· Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this position

Compensation

$50,00-$62,500. Bonus eligibility may apply.
