Job Title
Product Designer & Product Development Lead – Vehicle Accessories & Outdoor Gear

Location: Show Low, AZ 85901

Job Type: Full Time, 40 hrs per week onsite

ROAM Adventure Co. designs and manufactures rugged gear built for real-world use. Our products are used on the trail, at basecamp, and everywhere adventure happens. We move fast, test in the real world, and bring products to market through a mix of in-house development and trusted outside manufacturing partners.

About the Role

This is a hands-on Product Designer role with full project ownership.

You will be responsible for taking products from concept through production and market launch. This includes CAD design, engineering documentation, prototyping, testing, vendor management, and production support.

This is not an entry-level design role. We are looking for someone who has experience designing complete products and assemblies, solving manufacturing challenges, and driving projects independently.

This position is based full-time in Show Low, Arizona. Relocation is required for candidates who do not currently live in the area.

What You’ll Do Product Design & Development

Design parts and assemblies using SolidWorks or Autodesk Fusion 360
Create manufacturing-ready drawings and documentation
Sheet metal
Injection molding
Cast components
Soft goods
3D printed components
Build, test, and iterate functional prototypes
Conduct real-world product testing and implement design improvements
Develop products from concept through production release

Assembly & System Design

Design and manage complete assemblies consisting of multiple custom components
Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Perform fitment validation, tolerance reviews, and design-for-manufacturing evaluations
Balance performance, manufacturability, cost, durability, and user experience

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of product development or product design experience
Strong SolidWorks or Fusion 360 proficiency
Experience designing products that progressed beyond CAD into physical prototypes and production
Experience creating manufacturing drawings and documentation
Experience designing assemblies with multiple custom components
Hands-on prototyping and fabrication experience
Experience working directly with manufacturers, vendors, or contractors
Ability to independently manage projects from concept through production
Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
Willingness to relocate to Show Low, AZ if not currently local

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in automotive aftermarket, overlanding, powersports, outdoor recreation, camping, or adventure gear
Experience with high-volume manufacturing
Experience with injection molding, sheet metal, castings, and soft goods
Personal interest in outdoor recreation, camping, overlanding, or vehicle-based adventure
