JOB SUMMARY

The Executive Housekeeper leads all aspects of the Housekeeping and Laundry operation for a full-service hotel, ensuring guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas consistently meet brand and quality standards. This role carries full accountability for departmental labor management, inventory and supply-chain control, and use of hotel systems and technology to plan, forecast, and report on daily operations. The Executive Housekeeper builds and leads a team culture centered on cleanliness, guest satisfaction, safety, and cost discipline, while partnering closely with Front Office, Engineering, and hotel leadership.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct the daily operation of Housekeeping, Laundry, and Public Area teams to ensure guest rooms and public spaces meet brand standards and guest expectations.
Recruit, hire, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate housekeeping staff in partnership with the General Manager and Human Resources.
Build and manage staff schedules against occupancy forecasts and productivity standards, adjusting labor in real time to control cost while protecting service levels and room-cleaning turnaround.
Own departmental labor management end-to-end: monitor hours worked versus budget, manage overtime, track productivity per room/per labor hour, and prepare labor forecasts and variance reports for leadership review.
Maintain full inventory control over linen, guest amenities, cleaning chemicals, uniforms, and operating supplies, including cycle counts, par-level management, ordering, receiving, and reconciliation against usage and budget.
Conduct routine room and public-area inspections; document deficiencies and coordinate timely resolution with Engineering/Maintenance.
Use hotel property management, workforce management, and inventory/procurement systems accurately and efficiently, including entering schedules, room status updates, purchase orders, and operational reports.
Prepare and manage the department's operating budget, including labor and supply cost forecasting, monthly variance analysis, and corrective action planning.
Act as a liaison between Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Engineering to ensure smooth room turnover, timely communication of room status, and rapid response to guest requests.
Maintain compliance with OSHA, brand safety standards, and hotel policies regarding chemical handling, bloodborne pathogens, lost and found, and key control.
Lead daily briefings and ongoing training to reinforce brand standards, safety procedures, and service culture.
Respond to and resolve guest concerns related to room cleanliness or housekeeping service in a timely, professional manner.
Maintain the lost and found program, including logging, secure storage, and guest follow-up in accordance with brand standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by hotel leadership to support overall hotel operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Technology & Systems (Computer Savvy)

Strong working knowledge of property management systems (e.g., OnQ, OPERA, or similar PMS) for room status, assignments, and reporting.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) for scheduling, budgeting, inventory tracking, and correspondence.
Experience with workforce management/scheduling software and housekeeping-specific operations platforms (e.g., Quore, HotSOS, ALICE, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
Comfortable learning and adopting new digital tools and mobile applications used for inspections, task management, and reporting.

Labor Management

Demonstrated experience building labor schedules against occupancy and productivity standards and managing to a labor budget.
Skilled in recruiting, training, coaching, and performance management of a diverse, often multilingual, hourly workforce.
Working knowledge of wage and hour requirements, overtime management, and labor law compliance.

Inventory & Cost Control

Proven ability to manage par levels, ordering cycles, and vendor relationships for linen, amenities, chemicals, and supplies.
Experience conducting physical inventories and reconciling usage against budgeted cost-per-occupied-room targets.
Strong analytical skills to identify cost trends and implement corrective action.

General Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of progressive housekeeping leadership experience in a full-service or upscale hotel (Hilton brand preferred); prior Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Executive Housekeeper experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or certification in hospitality management a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on hotel occupancy needs.
Valid driver's license may be required depending on property needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods, and to lift or carry up to 25–35 pounds.
Ability to use stairs, and to work in varying indoor environments including exposure to cleaning chemicals.
Manual dexterity to operate computers, handheld devices, and standard office/housekeeping equipment.
