GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Performs routine (journey-level) fleet operations work. Work involves coordinating fleet operations, maintenance, and administrative functions for fleet management programs. The Fleet Manager will also handle tire maintenance, including repairs or replacements, fluid inspections, checking and topping off essential fluids, replacing vehicle lighting, replacing wiper blades, and other on-site tasks. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the Centers fleet, both owned and leased, by ensuring that routine maintenance is performed timely utilizing approved repair shops or performing in-house as appropriate, registrations are completed and routine safety checks are performed as required.

Completes required data entry and reporting so that preventative maintenance, vehicle utilization and cost analysis can be conducted on frequent basis to maximize the Center’s fleet and resources.
- Works as part of the facility maintenance team providing support and backup as needed. Responds to maintenance tickets as required or assigned by supervisor.
- Performs maintenance, repair, or inspection work on electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and mechanical equipment and systems within the assigned scope and training, in a timely and efficient manner. Works in a manner that retains or improves upon original appearance and/or use.

Assesses project/process needs with regard to materials and equipment, calculates material needs, and informs Maintenance Supervisor of the parts and supplies needed to complete work orders.

Assembles, installs, repairs, and maintains furniture systems. Moves Center furniture as associated with approved staff/programmatic moves.

Performs all work with a high degree of competence and independence, utilizing standard and proven methods in all required maintenance activities.

Provides on call coverage to the Center on an assigned basis for after hours and weekends-responding appropriately and timely to requests from Center staff.

May train, lead others in the work of the maintenance division.

Provides back up to the Maintenance Supervisor as needed.

Performs related work as assigned.
GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
Experience and Education
Experience with daily management and assessment of a business fleet and routine maintenance and repair work. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent, supplemented by vocational training in a designated trade, is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of routine building and vehicle maintenance and repair processes.

Selecting appropriate tools and equipment, and in troubleshooting situations to determine appropriate actions to resolve problems.

Skill in the use of tools and equipment, in troubleshooting causes for maintenance issues, in prioritizing work schedules, and in monitoring and inspecting the work performed by staff and contractors.

Ability to proficiently utilize computer programs, e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel.

Must be able to drive and have and maintain a valid drivers’ license with an acceptable driving record.
