Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer Technologist to join our advanced cardiovascular imaging team. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures focused on cardiac and vascular structures, providing critical information to support patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires a strong foundation in sonography, anatomy, physiology, and interventional cardiology, with experience in high-acuity settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers. The Cardiac Sonographer Technologist will collaborate closely with cardiologists, radiologists, and emergency medicine teams to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic evaluations.

Duties

Perform comprehensive echocardiograms, including transthoracic and transesophageal procedures, with precision and attention to detail.
Assist in interventional radiology procedures such as cardiac catheterization and other cath lab activities.
Monitor vital signs and maintain aseptic techniques during invasive procedures to ensure patient safety.
Interpret sonographic images for diagnostic evaluation, highlighting abnormalities in cardiac function or vascular structures.
Collaborate with interventional cardiology teams to provide real-time imaging support during complex procedures.
Maintain detailed documentation of imaging results and procedural notes in compliance with hospital protocols.
Ensure proper operation and calibration of sonography equipment, adhering to safety standards and best practices.
Provide patient education regarding procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout the process.

Experience

Proven experience in cardiac sonography within a high-acuity environment such as a Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center is preferred.
Hands-on experience with interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization, and cath lab procedures is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques related to cardiology.
Familiarity with telemetry monitoring, vital signs assessment, aseptic technique, and emergency medicine protocols.
Prior work in an emergency medicine setting or trauma center will be considered an asset.
Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent credential is required. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to life-saving diagnostics within a dynamic healthcare environment that values expertise, precision, and patient care excellence.
