Chipton-Ross is seeking a CMM Supervisor for a contract opportunity in Nashville, TN.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
- Minimum of 3 years leadership experience; preferably CMM leadership experience
- Working knowledge of stationary CMM equipment and the supporting software package(s)
- Use of advanced mathematics together with the use of applicable manuals and specifications precision measuring instruments computer and specific software application programs of a technical nature
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform a variety of duties to operate Coordinate •Measuring equipment to measure dimensions of components to specified requirement
- Install and run CMM programs to support production operations. Draw sketches using Computer Aided Design (CAD) program and/or CATIA
- As conditions require, perform all requirements of a Level II QA Inspector
- CMM programming in the CatiaV5 working environment
- CMM operation for the acceptance of 4 and 5 axis machined parts
- Lead the CMM operators and CMM programmers in the following activities and be able to complete the following when required:
- Reports out on daily GEMBA walks with detailed information on what was ran and what is going to run/be programmed in CMM that day.
- Works RCCA to understand why parts are not running at rates that support programs and works improvement processes as required.
- Review manufacturing planning, engineering drawings, and digital models (when available) to determine proper dimensions and tolerance specifications for specific part/tool to be measured
- Assist CMM Lead to report/elevate any problems with equipment, software or materials as soon as issue is identified
- Assist CMM Lead to determine resolution of CMM problems within limited time constraints when requested
Interpret and summarize inspection data
- Document inspection results in the form of AS9102 First Article Inspection report
Maintain detailed records of programs and inspection results
- Assist product engineers and manufacturing in the analysis of dimensional inspection data
- In-process inspection
- Perform mechanical inspection on parts/assemblies using standard inspection equipment such as bore gages, height gages, micrometers, etc.
- Report clear and concise inspection results to manufacturing to assist in the success of quality product
- CMM programming prior to the machining/manufacture of upcoming product
- Maintain all proper documentation requirements
- Assist in periodic audits, including but not limited to, internal, customer, ISO audits, etc.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
- 5 or more years' experience operating a CMM or portable CMM machine
- 3 or more years' CMM leadership experience
- 2-year technical college education or a completed apprenticeship in a recognized trade, craft or occupation

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
