Quality Control Analyst I / II – QC Microbiology

Location: Memphis, TN 38118
Job Type: Contract
Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 2:00 PM–11:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week
Duration: Approximately 25.8 weeks / 1,032 total hours
Pay Rate: $18-22/hour
Interview: 45-minute virtual interview

Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Control Analyst I / II to join the QC Microbiology Department in Memphis, TN. This position will perform routine environmental monitoring, product-release testing, raw material testing, and other microbiology laboratory activities in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.

The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of microbiology and laboratory instrumentation, strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to work independently while following established procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Perform environmental monitoring, including:
Air viable particulate sampling
Non-viable particulate monitoring
Surface sampling
Personnel monitoring
Perform routine testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
Perform sterility and endotoxin testing, as applicable to QC II responsibilities.
Perform growth promotion testing of microbial media.
Prepare environmental monitoring excursion reports and assist with minor laboratory investigations.
Receive raw materials and laboratory supplies and maintain media, reagent, and supply inventories.
Follow SOPs and Good Documentation Practices to maintain data integrity and traceability.
Maintain laboratory logs, documentation, filing, inventories, and other department records.
Assist with routine laboratory upkeep and organization.
Utilize GMP systems such as MODA and other laboratory computer systems.
Review QC test results for accuracy and precision, as applicable.
Maintain an efficient workflow of testing documentation to support timely product release.
Follow applicable current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic understanding of microbiology and laboratory instrumentation.
Laboratory experience in a QC Microbiology environment is preferred.
Experience with environmental monitoring, microbiological testing, or laboratory documentation is highly relevant.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Computer proficiency and ability to work with laboratory computer systems.
Ability to follow SOPs and Good Documentation Practices.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced technical environment.
Familiarity with GMP/cGMP practices is preferred, particularly for QC II-level responsibilities.
