Job Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Accounting
Reports To: Office Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt – 45 hours per week
Summary Monitors and analyzes accounting data for establishment by performing the following duties.
Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university and a minimum of five years related accounting experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
· Verifies, allocates, and posts details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files from documents such as sales slips, invoices, receipts, and computer reports.
· Summarizes details in separate ledgers or computer files.
· Bank statement and capital assets reconciliation.
· Prepares tax returns.
· Compiles reports to show statistics such as cash receipts and expenditures, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of business.
· Monitors debt activity and performs a revenue and expenditure variance analysis.
· Contribute to the development of an annual budget for the company and create long-term projections based on departmental needs and upcoming capital projects.
· Maintain various tracking files in Excel.
· Cash posting and receipt generation.
· Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
· Accountable for recording fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets.
· Distributes expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables according to schedules.
· Performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings.
· Audits, reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
· Assists in training and development to improve accuracy of reporting.
· Collects appropriate data and prepares federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.
· Supports multiple implementation projects and assists in the customization of products to meet the needs of the organization
· Assists in preparing for period closing by reviewing reports weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually for
accuracy.
· Assists in streamlining processes to maximize efficiency
· Create and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation
· Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports
· Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation
· Maintain Standard Operating Procedures for accounting policy and regulations, and roll out reconciliation procedures
· Respond to audit questions
· Analyses business and financial data and creates financial models based on analyses to support organizational decision making based on results and industry trends.
· Develops financial plans and reports for organizational leaders as needed.
· Evaluates capital expenditures and depreciation.
· Presents financial findings through building dashboards/visualizations to leadership
· Attends and actively participates in committees, professional groups, and seminars to stay current regarding new developments and trends in budgeting and finance.
· Monitors changes in the local, state, and federal tax laws, and actively monitors the local economy.
· Guide junior accountants and other staff by answering questions and training.
· Play a vital part in the company's financial management which includes all account reconciliations and reporting to necessary parties.
· Work in a leadership role ensuring schedule deadlines are met, policies and procedures are followed, and all financial reports are accurate.
· Final reviewer on all reports.
