Job Responsibilities:

Evaluate Pediatric Patients: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional needs of children from birth to adolescence.

Develop Individualized Treatment Plans: Create customized therapy plans targeting developmental delays, motor skills, sensory integration, and other challenges, in collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams.

Implement Therapy Interventions: Deliver age-appropriate therapeutic interventions using play-based techniques, sensory activities, and exercises to improve fine and gross motor skills, daily living activities, and social participation.

Monitor Progress: Regularly assess and document patient progress, modifying treatment plans as needed to meet the child’s developmental goals.

Family Education and Training: Provide guidance, resources, and training to parents and caregivers on techniques to support therapy goals at home, including exercises, adaptive strategies, and behavior management.

Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care for each child.

Promote Sensory Integration and Regulation: Address sensory processing disorders through structured activities aimed at improving a child’s ability to process and respond to sensory information.

Support School Readiness: Prepare children for school by working on fine motor skills (e.g., handwriting), self-care tasks, and social skills necessary for classroom participation.

Adapt and Recommend Assistive Devices: Evaluate and recommend adaptive equipment, tools, and environmental modifications to enhance a child’s independence and participation in daily activities.

Maintain Documentation and Compliance: Complete accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and reports, ensuring compliance with clinic policies and relevant regulations.

Participate in Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning opportunities, staying updated on the latest pediatric OT practices, research, and techniques.

Community Outreach and Education: Assist in organizing workshops, educational sessions, and support groups for families and community partners to promote awareness of pediatric occupational therapy services.
