Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Aide to support our culinary and dietary services team for part-time 12 hours per week, 2 - six hours days and 1 - twelve hour Saturday or Sunday per week, possible fill - in for vacations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food handling, meal preparation, and kitchen operations within healthcare, hospitality, or food service environments. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to providing nutritious, safe, and appealing meals while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. The Dietary Aide will work closely with kitchen staff and dietary department personnel to ensure efficient meal service and compliance with safety regulations.

Duties

Assist in food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including slicing tools, cooking appliances, and food storage units.
Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety standards are maintained throughout the food production process.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment in accordance with sanitation protocols.
Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients and assisting with portioning for various meals.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service times and address dietary needs.
Contribute to a safe working environment by adhering to all safety standards in food production and handling practices.

Qualifications

Previous experience in dietary departments or food service environments is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability in food preparation, cooking, and operating kitchen equipment safely.
Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to sanitation guidelines.
Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation within a food industry setting.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and dietary personnel.
Familiarity with knife skills, slicing techniques, and food handling procedures is preferred.
Prior catering or restaurant experience is advantageous but not mandatory; a keen interest in culinary arts is essential.
