We are seeking a passionate and energetic Part-Time Elementary/Middle School Librarian to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will manage the school library, promote literacy and research skills, and create an engaging environment that encourages students’ love for reading and learning. This position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire young learners and support their educational journey through dynamic library services. Duties

Provide comprehensive library services to elementary and middle school students, including book circulation, research assistance, and literacy support
Develop and maintain an organized catalog of library materials using an integrated library system (ILS)
Teach students how to effectively locate resources, utilize research tools, and develop strong reading habits
Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into classroom lessons and learning activities
Manage classroom behavior and foster a positive environment conducive to focused learning and exploration
Conduct regular inventory checks, catalog new materials, and ensure the upkeep of all library resources
Support students’ development of research skills, digital literacy, and information evaluation techniques

Skills

Strong knowledge of library services, cataloging practices, and learning technology tools
Experience working with children in educational or library settings
Excellent writing skills for creating engaging bibliographies, instructional materials, and communication with students and staff
Effective classroom management skills to maintain an organized and respectful environment
Ability to communicate clearly with students, teachers, parents, and colleagues
Demonstrated organizational skills for managing library resources efficiently
Familiarity with behavior management strategies suitable for young learners
Prior classroom experience or teaching background is highly desirable
Passion for literacy education and fostering a love of reading among students
