Job Summary

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Wildlife Tour Guide to lead our signature wildlife tours. In this role, you’ll guide small groups of visitors through our ranch and habitats, sharing stories of our Ambassador Animals, conservation efforts, and the ranch’s rich history. You’ll ensure every tour is safe, engaging, and educational, turning curious guests into lifelong advocates for wildlife. If you have a love for animals, a knack for storytelling, and a commitment to safety in a dynamic outdoor setting, this is your chance to make a paws-itive impact!

Key Responsibilities

Lead scheduled wildlife tours (by appointment only) for groups of 4–12 visitors, highlighting Ambassador Animals, native habitats, and conservation initiatives.
Provide engaging, fact-based narration on wildlife, ranch history, and eco-friendly practices to captivate all ages.
Ensure guest safety by monitoring surroundings and wildlife behavior, enforcing ranch guidelines, and advising on common-sense precautions like staying on marked paths and avoiding restricted areas.
Interact with animals responsibly, demonstrating proper handling and care to promote positive visitor experiences.
Assist with light setup for tours, such as preparing viewing areas or educational displays, and contribute to post-tour feedback collection.
Promote add-on experiences, like sponsorships, cabin stays and upgrades, to enhance guest satisfaction.
Participate in occasional special events, such as wildlife sponsorship drives or educational workshops.

Qualifications

Required:
High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in biology, environmental science, or tourism a plus.
1+ years of experience in guiding, education, or animal care (e.g., zookeeper, nature interpreter, or camp counselor).
Passion for wildlife conservation and a genuine enthusiasm for sharing knowledge with diverse audiences.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage children, families, and adults alike.
Physical fitness to navigate uneven terrain, stand for extended periods, and assist with light animal interactions.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
First Aid/CPR certification (training provided if needed).
Knowledge of local flora, fauna, and conservation topics.
Experience with public speaking or group facilitation in outdoor settings.
Comfort working around animals and in a rural, working-ranch environment.
