Through on-the-ground organizing, grassroots leader trainings, direct action, policy advocacy, and electoral engagement, we have made gains in policy solutions and public investments in criminal justice, neighborhood infrastructure, family-sustaining jobs, affordable housing, community schools, health access, and immigrant rights. TOP and its partner PACs have also run the largest independent grassroots electoral field operation in the state, running programs in four of the largest counties. Job DescriptionTOP’s culture is a highly collaborative environment that engages staff and members as full partners. TOP’s Political Canvass Manager is responsible for managing a team of canvassers year-round to continue to build out TOP’s political program and elect TOP-endorsed candidates who share our values. This position is a temporary role starting 08/17/26 and ending 11/07/26. The position includes managing and training a team of canvassers, leading the charge on all metrics, logistics, recruitment, and overall program in our Counties. Core responsibilities include:
Managing Paid GOTV Efforts
- Recruitment of canvassers & lead canvassers. This position will supervise the canvassing team
- Training and development of canvassers
- Maintaining admin documents, including onboarding, timesheets, incident reports, and warnings.
- Keeping track of program budget with support from the Political Field Manager
- Stay in constant communication with the local Office Data Manager to ensure there is always a stock of canvass supplies
- Preparing for and launching the canvass program every day
- Managing vendor relationships for paid GOTV programs
- Track metrics, logistics, & recruitment to ensure programs deliver on voter turnout goals - reporting to TOP’s Political Field Manager.
- Researching candidates and races that TOP’s members have endorsed to produce written raps for the canvass and equip canvassers with all the information they need to secure support for our candidates.
- Strong communication with TOP’s Political Field Manager, Data team, Logistics team, and Finance and Payroll team.
- Daily check-in with team leads and staff support.
Other Responsibilities:
- Consistently tracking and inputting data into EveryAction database, training provided
- Weekly community outreach and base-building responsibilities, which include canvassing/door-knocking, phone banking, text banking, etc.
- Working with staff and members to integrate political strategy into their campaign efforts
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Strong commitment to social, racial, and economic justice
- Minimum of one year of experience working in organizing or electoral spaces
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
- Ability to work well with all religious, cultural, ethnic, and social groups
- Ability to identify, recruit, and develop canvassers
- Experience running or managing some or all components of an electoral program
- Previous staff management experience required. Experience managing a team of canvassers preferred.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends
- Willingness to learn and grow within the TOP culture
- Computer competency – Zoom, VAN (or other electoral database), Google Docs, Internet required;
- One to two years of organizing experience preferredCharacteristics of the PositionRegular travel. Willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done.Some evening and weekend hours will be required, with ramp-up during election time.Position reports to TOP Political Field Coordinator

Salary Range: $1,450 weekly
