Part-Time Household Manager / Personal Assistant
$25 to $28/hour, depending on experience | Approximately 10–15 hours/week initially | Flexible weekday schedule
We are a busy couple in Southside Fort Worth, near TCU/Near Southside, looking for a dependable, proactive, highly organized person to help us get our home organized and, more importantly, keep it that way.
This is a two-adult household. Our children are grown and do not live at home, so there are no childcare responsibilities.
We already have a weekly housekeeper who handles regular cleaning, laundry, and changing linens. This is not a housekeeping position. We are looking for someone who enjoys creating order, developing simple systems, running errands, solving everyday problems, and helping a household run smoothly.
The responsibilities below are examples rather than a rigid daily checklist. We expect the role to evolve as we get to know one another and determine where your help creates the most value.
Household Organization & Day-to-Day Support
Responsibilities may include:
- Organizing closets, pantry, storage areas, packages, and household items
- Creating and maintaining simple organizational systems
- Handling packages, returns, donations, recycling, and breaking down boxes
- Dropping off and picking up dry cleaning
- Grocery shopping and keeping household staples stocked
- Helping plan 3–4 simple meals each week and assisting with basic meal prep or simple home-cooked meals. Professional cooking experience is not expected.
- Light household resets between housekeeper visits, such as dishes, tidying common areas, and putting things back where they belong
- Running local errands
- Coordinating vehicle detailing and similar personal errands
- Scheduling, coordinating, and meeting household vendors and service providers
- Helping prepare the home before travel and resetting things after we return
- Occasional seasonal projects, holiday organization, and similar household needs
Travel & House-Sitting Support
As trust develops, we would like this person to become someone we can rely on when we travel. This may include keeping an eye on the home, handling packages and mail, coordinating with vendors, and taking care of routine issues that arise while we’re away.
We sometimes travel for extended periods, so having a trusted local person who can keep things running in our absence is important to us.
Occasional Local Property & Business Support
We also own several local short-term rental properties. As trust develops, there may occasionally be opportunities to help us with light property support.
Examples might include walking through a property to make sure items are organized and where they belong, checking kitchen and household inventory, noticing missing or damaged items, restocking supplies, or meeting a vendor.
This is light support and oversight, not property management or cleaning.
There may also occasionally be simple errands or pickups for a nearby family business, located approximately 10 minutes from our home.
Who We’re Looking For
More than anything, we’re looking for someone who notices what needs attention and takes initiative.
We don’t want to have to create a detailed checklist every time something needs to be done. The right person enjoys creating order, maintaining systems, anticipating needs, communicating well, and solving everyday problems independently.
Because this person will be working closely in our home and eventually may have access while we’re traveling, trustworthiness, discretion, good judgment, and respect for privacy are extremely important to us.
Requirements and preferences include:
- Dependable, proactive, organized, and comfortable working independently
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- References required
- Background check required
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required
- Strong preference for someone living within approximately 20–25 minutes of the TCU/Near Southside area
- Mileage reimbursed for approved work-related errands; normal commute is not reimbursed
- Some occasional flexibility outside the regular schedule is helpful, particularly when we’re traveling, but this is not a 24/7 on-call position
Schedule & 90-Day Introductory Period
We anticipate approximately 10–15 hours per week initially, primarily on weekdays with some scheduling flexibility.
Hours may vary somewhat depending on household needs, travel, seasonality, and occasional property needs.
The position will begin with a 90-day introductory period. At the end of 90 days, we’ll review together how the arrangement is working, including responsibilities, schedule, hours, and overall fit.
Our goal is to find someone who can become a trusted, long-term part of keeping our household and day-to-day life organized and running smoothly.
