Full Job Description

Attorney/Lawyer-Immigration (Part Time) – San Antonio, Texas

Remote Position | In-Person Court & Detention Facility Appearances Required

TKR Law Group is seeking a Part-Time Immigration Attorney based in the San Antonio area to join our growing immigration practice.

This is a remote position with no requirement to report to a physical law office. However, the attorney must be located in or near San Antonio and available to attend in-person immigration court hearings and appearances at detention facilities throughout the San Antonio area, as needed.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable appearing in immigration court, and able to independently manage court appearances while communicating effectively with our attorneys and support staff.

Primary Responsibilities

Attend Master Calendar Hearings and other immigration court proceedings in person as assigned
Attend hearings and attorney visits/appearances at immigration detention facilities in and around the San Antonio area
Review case files and prepare for assigned court appearances
Prepare and/or review motions, filings, and other court-related documents as needed
Provide timely updates following court appearances, including upcoming deadlines and required follow-up
Coordinate with the firm's attorneys and support staff regarding hearing preparation and case strategy
Maintain accurate records of court appearances, deadlines, and case developments
Handle other immigration court-related matters as assigned

Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school
Active and in-good-standing license to practice law in at least one U.S. state or territory
Eligible and authorized to practice before EOIR
Immigration court experience strongly preferred
Removal defense experience preferred
Experience with Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) cases and related removal proceedings is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organization and deadline-management skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Reliable transportation and ability to attend in-person proceedings throughout the San Antonio area
Spanish fluency is strongly preferred

Position Details

Part-time
Remote, with required in-person court and detention facility appearances in the San Antonio area
Flexible schedule outside of required hearings, appearances, meetings, and deadlines
Opportunity to work closely with an established immigration law practice and experienced immigration attorneys

We are looking for an attorney who can take ownership of assigned court matters—someone who will review the file, prepare appropriately, confidently handle the appearance, communicate the outcome, and identify any necessary next steps.

This position may be especially well suited for an experienced immigration attorney seeking a flexible part-time schedule while continuing to handle substantive immigration court work.
