Job Description: Audio/Video Intern

Status: Internship – At least 4 hours on Sunday mornings

Position Overview: Polk Street Methodist Church is seeking a motivated and teachable Audio and Video Intern to join our Media Ministries team. This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with professional sound and video equipment in a live production environment, supporting weekly worship services and special events. The ideal candidate has a passion for media ministry, is willing to learn, and is committed to excellence in serving the church through technology.

Supervisor: This position reports directly to the Director of Media Ministries

Skills Required:

Interest in audio and video production, especially in a worship/church setting.
Willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with others.
Detail-oriented, dependable, and proactive in problem-solving.
Availability for Sunday morning worship services and special events.
Prior experience with A/V systems is a plus but not required.

Essential Job Functions:

Learn the operation of the church’s digital sound board, including setup, mixing, and troubleshooting.
Assist in operating and maintaining the church’s camera system and video equipment for live streaming and recording worship services.
Help with pre-service setup and post-service breakdown of multimedia equipment as needed.
Support the Director of Media Ministries during services and events.
Gradually take on leadership responsibilities during services when the Director of Media Ministries is unavailable.
Attend training sessions to stay informed about systems, updates, and upcoming events.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Projects a positive image of Polk Street to congregants and the community.
