Position Summary #BP

The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist is a vital contributor responsible for executing essential tasks within the company’s accounts payable operations. This role ensures that financial transactions are processed with high accuracy, adherence to compliance standards, and operational efficiency. Ideal candidates will have comprehensive experience managing the full cycle of accounts payable, possess strong analytical capabilities, and demonstrate excellent collaboration skills with internal teams and external vendors. The Senior AP Specialist will lead efforts to optimize processes, resolve complex payment issues, and uphold the organization’s financial integrity and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct daily audits to verify the completeness and accuracy of invoices.
Foster a culture of accountability and teamwork through consistent job performance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders by providing timely responses.
Deliver exceptional customer service aligned with the organization’s core values.
Support month-end closing activities and related projects.
Ensure all operations comply with organizational policies, industry regulations, including privacy standards, and internal controls.
Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance and transparency.
Collaborate across departments to cultivate a positive and productive work environment.
Analyze payment exceptions and work with internal and external partners to resolve concerns.
Utilize Excel and other technology tools effectively to manage spreadsheets, financial software, and automation initiatives.
Apply fundamental accounting principles to maintain precise financial records.
Adapt to system upgrades, process improvements, and changing business needs with a proactive learning attitude.
Handle sensitive financial information with discretion, professionalism, and ethical integrity.
Effectively manage time to meet daily responsibilities, deadlines, and operational goals.
Communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal interactions.
Work independently to manage workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Minimum of three years of accounts payable experience or a related field.
Experience using large ERP systems such as Infor or Lawson.
Experience with ServiceNow is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Business, Finance, or Accounting degree is preferred.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is advantageous.
Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
Professional certifications such as APM, CAPP, CAPA, CPA, or APPM are desirable.
