Position Summary

The Director of Life Enrichment is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive life enrichment program that supports the physical, emotional, social, cognitive, cultural, and spiritual well-being of our residents. This role creates opportunities for engagement, connection, and purpose while fostering a warm and welcoming community environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and oversee a robust calendar of life enrichment programs, events, outings, and activities.

· Assess resident interests, abilities, and preferences to create meaningful and individualized programming.

· Coordinate entertainment, educational opportunities, wellness initiatives, volunteer programs, and special events.

· Build partnerships with local organizations, schools, faith communities, and volunteers.

· Encourage resident and family participation in community life.

· Supervise, train, and support life enrichment staff and volunteers.

· Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.

· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident-centered care and quality-of-life goals.

· Manage department budgets, supplies, and resources effectively.

· Promote a culture of engagement, inclusion, and person-centered care throughout the community.

Qualifications

· Experience in leading life enrichment, recreation, activities, therapeutic recreation, or resident engagement programs in senior living, skilled nursing, healthcare, or a related setting.

· A passion for enhancing the lives of older adults through meaningful programming.

· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

· Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and community partners.

· Experience supervising staff and volunteers is preferred.

· Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) certification is preferred. Candidates who do not currently hold this certification will have the opportunity to obtain it, with organizational support provided.

· Activity Director Certification (ADC), Activity Consultant Certification (ACC), or eligibility to obtain certification is preferred.
