Group Fitness Coach (Part-time) — Northridge/Chatsworth, CA

- Pay: $33.00–$78.00 per hour

- Schedule: Part-time; weekday and/or weekend availability required

- Location: Onsite at Orangetheory Fitness, Chatsworth, CA 91311

About the role

Be fit. Change lives. Have fun. At Orangetheory, you’ll lead science-backed, heart-rate–based interval training that fuels members’ confidence and results—within a supportive, high-energy community. You’ll coach our signature 1-hour, full-body group workouts, as well as specialty classes, celebrate progress, and keep classes safe, effective, and motivating.

What you’ll do

- Coach high-impact classes: Lead and energize members through pre-defined, heart-rate–based workouts that deliver results.

- Personalize in a group setting: Offer clear options, cues, and progressions/regressions to meet different fitness levels and goals.

- Prioritize safety and form: Demonstrate and correct technique across tread, rower, floor, and strength modalities.

- Leverage the science: Understand and explain our 5-zone, heart-rate model and how it supports fat loss, endurance, and strength.

- Own the room: Command class flow, music, timing, and energy to create a consistent, premium experience.

- Engage the community: Learn member names, track milestones, and help create a welcoming, inclusive studio culture.

- Partner with the studio team: Collaborate with Sales Associates and leadership to support challenges, events, and membership growth.

What you’ll bring

- Required: Active, nationally recognized Personal Trainer certification (from an Orangetheory-approved provider) and current CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain before first class).

- Experience: 1+ year leading group training, and personal training experience.

- Coaching skills: Confident mic presence, clear cueing, class management, and ability to motivate and energize diverse groups.

- Technical know-how: Proficiency in body mechanics, proper form and exercise physiology

- Member-first mindset: Empathy, professionalism, and commitment to safety, inclusivity, and results.

Nice to have

- Prior Orangetheory coaching experience (candidates will be fast-tracked).

- Experience with high intensity workouts, as well as strength-based training.

Training and development

- Paid OTF Coach Certification: Proprietary training to master our workout design, coaching standards, and member experience.

- Ongoing development, mentorship, and access to continuing education credits (CECs).
