We are seeking an energetic and visionary Director of Preschool to lead our early childhood education programs with passion and strategic insight. Little Light Preschool exists to partner with families to help kids build a strong foundation of learning and faith. We do this by helping kids accomplish and master 4 key areas:

- Explore creation with curiosity and wonder
- Create with imagination as unique individuals made in God’s image
- Play in ways that foster growth and relationships
At Little Light Preschool, you’ll join a team that is part of the larger mission of Purpose Church—helping people take their next step toward Jesus while serving families during their most foundational years.
The Preschool Director is responsible for all aspects of the preschool program. This includes hiring staff, managing enrollment, and observing and overseeing the day-to-day activities within the program. The Preschool Director is tasked with maintaining a clean, warm, and friendly environment that prepares children for the transition to kindergarten. This person will also be responsible for meeting and maintaining the minimum State Licensing Requirements.

SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIPS
- The Director affirms the Christian philosophy or education to the facility and staff as defined in the school staff hand books
- Assists staff members in personal and spiritual problems
- Encouraged spiritual growth of the teach staff including devotional meets held at least monthly
- Encourages proper spiritual emphasis in the classroom
SPIRITUAL ALIGNMENT
- The Preschool Director is more than an educational leader—they are a ministry leader within Purpose Church. As such, this individual is expected to embrace and actively support the mission, vision, and values of the church while helping families take their next step toward Jesus.
- Our preferred candidate is someone who is an active, engaged member of Purpose Church and is committed to living out the mission of our church through the ministry of Little Light Preschool.
- If a qualified candidate is not currently part of Purpose Church, preference will be given to individuals who are active members in good standing of a church within the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and who affirm and support the doctrine, mission, and philosophy of Purpose Church.
- All candidates must demonstrate a clear calling to Christian ministry, a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and a willingness to become fully engaged in the life and ministry of Purpose Church.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the day-to-day operations, administration, and educational program of the Preschool in accordance with its philosophy, mission, goals, and objectives.
- Provide leadership and supervision for all preschool staff, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, evaluating, scheduling, disciplining, and supporting professional growth.
- Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with school policies, handbooks, licensing regulations, and all applicable state and local requirements.
- Supervise classroom instruction by reviewing lesson plans, observing classrooms, establishing curriculum standards, and promoting educational excellence.
- Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios, oversee student conduct and discipline, and ensure proper supervision and safety practices throughout the preschool.
- Build positive relationships with families by conducting tours, supporting enrollment efforts, communicating regularly with parents, and overseeing student assessment and progress reporting.
- Plan and oversee the annual school calendar, special events, and programs, including holiday celebrations, Back-to-School events, and graduation activities, and serve as a public representative and speaker at school events.
- Promote the preschool within the community by participating in fairs, outreach events, and other community engagement opportunities to support enrollment and increase visibility.
- Manage the preschool budget, tuition collection, purchasing, inventory, and financial records in accordance with established policies.
- Maintain accurate records for children, personnel, enrollment, and other documentation required by state regulations.
- Coordinate facility maintenance, cleanliness, and overall campus operations to ensure a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment.
- Foster positive relationships among preschool staff, church leadership, and the community, collaborating with church ministries to support the overarching mission and vision of the church.
- Participate in professional organizations and continuing education opportunities to remain current in best practices in early childhood education.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Preschool Director or church leadership.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)
- Must be called by God into ministry
- Knowledge of California Department of Social Services-Community Care Licensing Division, Title 22 regulations
- Budgeting and Financial Analysis preferred
- Proven organization and communication skills consistent with both preschool children and adult needs
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Work effectively with staff
- Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions
- Proficient Computer knowledge: Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, PDF, Facebook, required
- Must agree to uphold and support the missions, vision, and strategy of the Church
- Must have a philosophy of ministry that is consistent with the Lead Pastor, Elders, Scripture, Mission and Vision of the church
- Must be an example of Servant-Leadership to those inside and outside the Church
- Lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Frequently move about inside campus buildings and outside on the grounds
- Meeting one of the below options:
- Option A
- -High school diploma/GED-15 semester units (including administration/staff relations and ECE/CD coursework)-4 years teaching experience in a licensed child care cente
- Option B
-Associate degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development-2 years teaching experience
-Bachelor's degree in ECE/Child Development-1 year teaching experience-Appropriate Child Development Site Supervisor or Program Director PermitBonuses available for increasing enrollment!
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
