Job

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated candidate to join our culinary team. The kitchen manager will assist and oversee the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring that all food safety and quality standards are met, as well as track inventory, create grocery lists and place orders, assist in schedule writing, and clean/maintain kitchen and equipment. The ideal candidate will be a sociable and friendly person with strong leadership skills, good time management, and efficient communication.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for various dishes, including chopping, slicing, and measuring.
Follow recipes and cooking instructions to prepare meals according to menu specifications.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes and sanitizing work areas.
Adhere to food safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe cooking environment.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods.
Track inventory, compile grocery lists, and place orders.
Receive and organize grocery orders, and rotate inventory.
Assist in schedule writing.
Help with menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely, including knives, ovens, grills, and mixers.

Skills

Basic knowledge of food handling and food safety practices.
Culinary skills with a passion for cooking and learning new techniques.
Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools, particularly knives.
Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation.
Understanding of dietary needs and preferences is a plus.
Willingness to learn about menu planning and food service operations.
