Lead Finish Carpenter / Handyman Services Specialist

Location: Mount Vernon / Lisbon, IA & Surrounding Areas

Position Type: Full-Time (W-2) | 30-40 Hours/Week

Pay Range: $30.00 – $35.00 / hour (dependent upon experience & skill set)

Position Overview

We are looking for an exceptional Finish Carpenter & Handyman Services Specialist—a detail-oriented craftsman who takes immense pride in taking projects across the finish line.

In this hybrid role, you will act as the Punch-Out Specialist on our major interior remodels (taking jobs from drywall to 100% turnkey finish) and serve as our lead technician for high-value Local Handyman & Custom Small Jobs.

Key Responsibilities1. Project Punch-Out & Interior/Exterior Finishing (Major Builds)

Executing Level 4/5 drywall taping, mudding, patching, and smooth sanding.
Installing high-end interior trim, baseboards, crown molding, casing, and custom built-ins with precise joinery.
Setting pre-hung doors, adjusting hardware, and hanging cabinetry.
Installing floating floors, luxury vinyl plank, and floor/wall tile or ability to learn.
Performing precise caulking, surface prep, and fine finish painting.
Deck staining, railing install, and other detail oriented tasks.

2. Local Handyman & Small-Job Execution

Heading up our small, high-trust residential repairs ($500–$3,000 scope) for local homeowners in Mount Vernon, Lisbon, and surrounding communities.
Professionally representing the company on-site with clean attire, treating every client’s home like glass.
Communicating clearly with homeowners and our Operations Manager regarding project progress, material staging, and completion sign-offs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in finish carpentry, interior remodeling, drywall finishing, or custom punch-out work.
The "Craftsman" Mindset: Obsessive attention to detail, pride in clean work environments, and a preference for quality over rushing.
Autonomous Problem Solving: Ability to read project plans, spot previous framing/finishing errors, and execute solutions cleanly without constant supervision.
Communication: Friendly, professional, and respectful manner when interacting with homeowners on-site.
Tools & Transport: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. (Ownership of personal hand tools and fine-finish carpentry setups is a strong plus).
