Job Overview
We are seeking A Maintenance Technician to join our team on the second shift, working Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM. In this vital role, you will ensure the continuous operation of manufacturing equipment by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting complex systems, and executing repairs efficiently. Your expertise will help maintain our high standards of quality and safety while supporting production goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists other team members in improving production processes and efficiencies and reducing downtime by doing the following:
- Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, piping, plumbing, electrical components/systems, HVAC, and other systems to ensure optimal efficiency and performance
- Observes and troubleshoots equipment/machine operations to detect malfunctions in equipment or other errors affecting the quality of the part; make recommendations on improving equipment and/or processes to Plant Manager
- Dismantle equipment and machines to perform maintenance, install new and or repaired parts and/or equipment
- Performs preventative and predicative maintenance on equipment and machinery on regular basis to ensure proper functionality and optimal efficiencies
- Assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment/fixtures
- Installs, programs, and/or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers
- Set-up and operate machining tools such as lathes, grinders, drills, and milling machines to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixture, and tools.
- May fabricate, repair, build, or modify structures of different materials
- Will operate various tools and equipment including electrical tooling, hand tooling, welding equipment, torches, and other tools of trade
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, management, and/or others to resolve machining issues
- Will be expected to participate in safety and quality activities including 5S, training, and other events/activities
- Expected to know and abide by Quality policy and relevant quality objectives as well as understanding the importance of QMS, it’s improvements, principles and implications if not followed as directed
- Understand and follow customer requirements and process for non-conforming parts
- Lead by example in following company policies, procedures, and expected standards of quality, safe working environment, continuous improvement, and supporting the organization’s mission, vision, and values
- May perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED;
- 3-5 years previous experience in similar role in manufacturing environment, preferably with CNC equipment, but not mandatory
- Must have ability to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and other resource material
- Must be comfortable working around 480V
- Experience working with Pneumatic and hydraulic devices
- Ability to apply reasoning and common sense to carry out instructions provided in writing, verbally, or in diagram form
- Physical ability to perform physical essential functions of job with or without reasonable accommodations
- Advance knowledge of tooling, measuring and testing equipment
- Must have ability to operate computer and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must be able to understand and follow quality and safety procedures
Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Prefer experience with PLC’s
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards preferred
- Prefer previous experience with HVAC, air compressors, and CNC machines
- Prefer candidate have demonstrated ability of process improvement(s) that increased production and reduced downtime
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects
- Ability to operate forklift and other equipment
- Ability to detect issues, seek solutions, and resolve issues
- Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with management and colleagues and follow directions
- Ability to apply common sense and reasoning needed to carry out instructions provided verbally or in writing, formally or informally
Physical/Environmental Conditions:
- May be exposed to unusual elements and conditions including extreme temperatures, oil, dust, dirt, smoke, metal shavings, loud noises, confined spaces, chemicals, trip and fall hazards, moving parts and equipment, electrical equipment, airborne particles and allergens, potential risk of electric shock and vibration, exposure to overhead equipment and cranes
- Position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and/or walking
- Position may require heavy lifting from minimum of 50lbs. without assistance or up to 100+ lbs. with equipment assistance
- May require bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, crouching
Pay: $26.63 - $32.07 per hour
