Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a PRN (as-needed) Physical Therapist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care across diverse settings. This flexible position offers the opportunity to work in inpatient hospital environments, outpatient clinics, home health, and community care, empowering patients to regain mobility and improve their quality of life. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will utilize your expertise in physiotherapy to develop personalized care plans, assist patients through their recovery journey, and promote optimal functional outcomes.

Duties

Assess patients’ physical conditions by conducting comprehensive evaluations of mobility, strength, and functional abilities.
Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that align with patient goals and clinical best practices.
Administer therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and exercise programs to improve patient outcomes.
Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless transitions from hospital to home or community settings.
Document patient progress accurately using electronic medical records (EMR systems) and update care plans regularly.
Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy techniques, injury prevention, and home exercise routines.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review patient progress and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.

Skills

Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practice.
Experience with acute care, inpatient hospital settings, outpatient clinics, home health, and community-based care environments.
Proficiency in developing care plans for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and patients recovering from surgery or injury.
Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and patient record management.
Ability to perform discharge planning effectively while coordinating with other healthcare providers.
Knowledge of trigger point therapy techniques for pain management and musculoskeletal conditions.
Excellent communication skills to educate patients on treatment procedures and promote adherence to therapy regimens.
