Looking for a candidate with a background in print design with experience using and
teaching Adobe software including Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Flash. Candidate must also be familiar with Cinema 4D, Final Cut Pro and typography. Ideal candidate will have published website(s) on the internet and a strong portfolio or body of work. Must be proficient with the latest Mac operating system.
1. Creates and evaluates assignments, evaluative measures, and activities appropriate to the class.
2. Assigns grades to student work.
3. Returns the graded assignments, evaluative measures, and activities to the students in a timely manner. Maintains the general guideline of returning student work and posting grades within a week.
4. Maintains accurate and thorough records of student attendance.
5. Reports student attendance as required, by the published deadline.
6. Maintains an accurate and thorough electronic grade book.
7. At the end of the term, reports grades to the Records Office by the deadline and submits electronic copies of grade book and attendance to the Department course management site.
8. Administers course evaluations as instructed by the College.
This position requires classroom and/or online instruction in the discipline.
The instructor must be knowledgeable in the discipline and must provide high quality instruction.
The instructor must have a demonstrated knowledge of and integration of appropriate practices of teaching diverse learners.
Teaching a variety of courses that deal mainly in multimedia design such as websites, videos, 30 design, and interactive websites.
Will need to incorporate programs and projects into curriculum, while meeting course learning outcomes established by Owens for each course.
Candidate must be willing to write and administer quizzes and tests periodically throughout semester.
The successful candidate will also have good communication, multitasking, organization, and graphic design skills.
Candidate must be willing to work with other faculty as needed to continually analyze and improve assessment of program and assist in other duties in the department as necessary to maintain consistency throughout courses.
