Position Summary

American Block Manufacturing Company is a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty equipment for oil well drilling rigs and production operations. We specialize in large-scale precision machining, welding, and assembly, producing critical components such as fluid ends, 1502 iron, and other high-pressure equipment for the energy sector.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Materials Planner/ Project Manager to support production efficiency through structured planning and cross-functional coordination. This role is primarily focused on materials planning, inventory management, and production scheduling, with secondary responsibility for tracking project timelines and ensuring alignment between planning, procurement, and manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring that materials, capacity, and production schedules are aligned to meet customer demand while supporting on-time project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain material requirements plans (MRP) based on forecasts, sales orders, and production schedules
Plan and schedule materials to support manufacturing operations while optimizing inventory levels
Utilize ERP systems such as Global Shop and Acumatica to manage work orders, inventory, and planning data
Coordinate closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely material availability
Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to reduce excess, shortages, and obsolete stock
Identify material shortages, delays, or production bottlenecks and drive corrective actions
Track and communicate material status and readiness for ongoing jobs and projects
Support project timelines by ensuring material availability aligns with production milestones
Assist in coordinating project-related activities between departments to maintain schedule adherence
Analyze demand trends, lead times, and inventory data to improve planning accuracy
Maintain accurate system data to support reporting and operational decision-making

Qualifications

Experience in materials planning, production scheduling, or supply chain coordination in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of MRP systems, inventory control, and demand planning
Experience with ERP systems such as Global Shop, Acumatica, or similar platforms
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, heavy manufacturing environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
Experience in oil & gas, heavy equipment, or large-part manufacturing is strongly preferred

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
