Full Job Description

Overview

Position Overview

We are a steel contracting company seeking a reliable and motivated Junior Steel Estimator & Administrative Coordinator to assist with project estimating and general administrative responsibilities.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in learning the steel construction and estimating industry. Extensive experience is not required. The ideal candidate should have basic computer and organizational skills, be willing to learn, and maintain a flexible, positive attitude.

The position is primarily remote, with minimal travel to project sites when necessary. Work is generally performed Monday through Friday, with some flexibility based on project needs.

Responsibilities

Assist with estimating steel construction projects
Review drawings, specifications, bid invitations, and project documents
Help prepare material takeoffs and preliminary cost estimates
Request and organize subcontractor and supplier pricing
Maintain organized records of bids, proposals, project documents, and correspondence
Monitor and respond to company emails as needed
Answer and return business-related phone calls professionally
Communicate with clients, contractors, vendors, and suppliers
Update estimating spreadsheets, bid logs, and project information
Assist with scheduling, invoicing, data entry, and other administrative tasks
Attend occasional project site visits when required

Qualifications

Basic understanding of construction, steel work, estimating, or project coordination is preferred but not required
Willingness to learn steel estimating and administrative processes
Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other computer programs
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage emails, phone calls, documents, and multiple assignments
Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
Flexible and open-minded approach to learning new responsibilities
Previous administrative, construction, estimating, or office experience is helpful
Experience with QuickBooks or accounting software is a plus but not required

Compensation and Growth

Compensation will be based on experience, performance, and what the candidate can bring to the company. This position offers room for growth as the individual develops their estimating skills and takes on additional responsibilities.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, and interested in growing with the company. The right candidate does not need to know everything immediately but should be motivated to improve and contribute to the team.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
