Job Overview

Join our dynamic dental team as a Front Office Assistant, where your energy and organizational skills will be the heartbeat of our patient experience! In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring smooth clinic operations from appointment scheduling to medical record management. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment while supporting clinical staff with essential administrative functions. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your career in a vibrant dental practice dedicated to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
Verify insurance coverage, process payments, and handle billing procedures including medical collection tasks
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies
Assist with documentation review, coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and insurance claims submission related to dental procedures and medical billing
Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, providing clear communication and appointment coordination
Support clinical staff by managing supply inventory, filing medical records, and performing general clerical duties like data entry and typing (including 10 key typing)

Experience

Previous clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental clinic workflows is a plus
Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (ICD coding, CPT coding), health insurance processes such as Medicare and Medicaid
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or similar platforms for documentation and records management
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite for administrative support tasks
Experience with medical terminology, health information management, and clinical documentation review is advantageous
