Kitchen Assistant – School CafeteriaAbout Us

Lunch Pro is an independent food service management company that partners with charter schools and private organizations throughout the Wasatch Front in Utah. We manage complete school nutrition programs by providing nutritious, high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and creating a positive dining experience for students and staff. Our experienced team combines culinary expertise, operational excellence, and a commitment to fiscally responsible school food service.

Job Summary

Lunch Pro is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our school cafeteria team. In this role, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals in a fast-paced school environment while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming cafeteria. You will work alongside the Kitchen Manager and cafeteria team to ensure students receive quality meals and excellent customer service each day.

Responsibilities

Assist with preparing and serving breakfast and lunch according to standardized recipes and portion sizes.
Help with food preparation, including washing, cutting, and assembling ingredients.
Set up serving lines and serve students and staff in a friendly and efficient manner.
Receive, stock, and properly store food and kitchen supplies.
Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, serving lines, dining areas, and equipment.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
Complete daily cleaning tasks and assist with inventory as needed.
Work as part of a team to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
Provide outstanding customer service to students, school staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

Previous food service, cafeteria, restaurant, or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of basic food preparation and safe food handling practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced school environment.
Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
Food Handler Permit (or ability to obtain one upon hire).
