Basic Employee Responsibilities
Every Q2 ALS/ US ROD employee is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Leading by example by following established Quality, Health and Safety policies & procedures.
- Showing respect and pride for facilities and equipment.
- Being responsible – on time for work and take breaks during designated times.
- Carrying out other tasks from time to time as assigned by a supervisor or request for assistance as needed.
Position Specific Responsibilities
- Support and administer the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program for the US Rod Manufacturing facility in accordance with applicable federal, state, local, and company requirements.
- Serve as the primary HSE resource for manufacturing employees, supervisors, and site leadership.
- Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and safety observations to identify risks and promote safe work practices.
- Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and hazards; complete documentation, support root cause analysis, and track corrective actions to completion.
- Maintain HSE records and documentation, including training records, inspections, incident reports, OSHA reporting requirements, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance records.
- Coordinate and deliver employee safety orientations, required training, emergency response activities, and ongoing safety awareness initiatives.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, PPE requirements, machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, chemical safety requirements, and other manufacturing safety controls.
- Support HSE & API, customer, internal, and regulatory audits by coordinating documentation, inspections, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
- Provide guidance and support to supervisors and employees on HSE requirements, regulatory compliance, hazard prevention, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist the HSE Manager - USA with safety programs, audits, inspections, incident investigations, training, and compliance activities at US Rod RSP locations and rod shop operations as required.
- Promote a positive safety culture through employee engagement, hazard reporting, coaching, and continuous improvement.
- Travel occasionally to support HSE activities at U.S. operational locations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma, certificate, or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a health and safety role within a manufacturing, industrial, oilfield, or related environment.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Experience conducting workplace inspections, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-up.
- Familiarity with manufacturing safety practices, including machine guarding, lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, chemical safety, and equipment safety.
- Ability to maintain accurate safety documentation, including incident reports, inspection records, training records, and corrective action tracking.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and electronic safety management systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting site leadership and contributing to a team environment.
- Ability to travel occasionally within the United States.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain access to customer and operational sites as required.
Physical Demands
- May be required to stand and walk for extended periods while performing site inspections and safety observations.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, or climbing stairs to access equipment and work areas.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment and inspection tools.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety boots, hard hats, eye protection, hearing protection, and other required safety gear while in operational areas.
- Exposure to manufacturing, warehouse, repair shop, and industrial work environments including noise, moving equipment, temperature variations, and industrial materials.
- Ability to travel and move safely throughout production, warehouse, and service environments while complying with facility safety requirements.
