Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Kansas Board of Regents invites applications for the position of Academic Affairs Program Specialist. The nine-member Kansas Board of Regents is the governing board of the state's six public universities and the statewide coordinating board for Kansas public higher education.
The Academic Affairs Program Specialist serves as a liaison between the Board and regulated institutions and supports Private and Out-of-State Postsecondary Education activities by coordinating institutional applications, supporting institutional staff, conducting application reviews, maintaining records, supporting student records processes, and assisting communication and operational activities within the unit.

This position is authorized for remote work; however, periodic in-person attendance for meetings, training, conferences, institutional visits, and other business needs in Topeka and elsewhere in Kansas may be required.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Coordinate institutional application and renewal processes.
Communicate with institutions regarding requirements, documentation, and fees.
Conduct initial application completeness reviews.
Serve as a point of contact for institution inquiries.
Maintain institutional records and related documentation.
Manage student records and transcript requests from closed institutions.
Support website updates and agency communications.
Provide program and administrative support to Academic Affairs leadership.

Licensing & Certification: None Required
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience supporting program administration, reporting activities, records management, data collection, or related operational functions.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, business, communications, or a related field.
Experience in a postsecondary education setting or regulatory environment.
Experience supporting application review, records management, institutional communication, or student records processes.
