Compensation:

Annual Salary/Hourly Rate: $45,000 to $55,000

Position Summary:
The Telecommunications Specialist is responsible for the daily operation, monitoring, support, and administration of the KANWIN Network. The Specialist supports mission-critical voice, data, and video communications infrastructure by installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications and network equipment inside and outside facilities and infrastructure. The role also participates in the staging, testing, and deployment of new and replacement infrastructure equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Monitor, maintain, and support the KANWIN Network to ensure reliable performance and availability of voice, data, and video communication systems.
-
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Cisco-based network infrastructure within enterprise LAN/WAN environments.
-
Perform network diagnostics and resolve telecommunications and connectivity issues using packet capture and network analysis tools.
-
Troubleshoot routing and connectivity issues involving dynamic routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, and MPLS technologies.
-
Stage, test, deploy, and replace telecommunications and network equipment supporting infrastructure upgrades and enhancement projects.

Collaborate with customers, vendors, and cross-functional IT teams to resolve technical issues and provide effective customer support.

Maintain technical documentation related to network configurations, troubleshooting, and operational procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
-
Three or more years of experience supporting enterprise Cisco network environments
-
Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, resolving, and documenting LAN/WAN network issues
-
Experience using packet capture and network diagnostic tools
-
Experience troubleshooting OSPF and other dynamic routing protocols
-
Experience providing remote customer technical support
-
Experience collaborating with cross-functional IT teams, including Security, Application Support, and Server Administration
-
Strong verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail
-
Ability to participate in an on-call support rotation
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience supporting Cisco Voice over IP (VoIP) environments
-
Experience with BGP and MPLS technologies in a service provider environment
-
Coursework, technical training or military training in electronics, electrical engineering, or telecommunications technology from an accredited institution or military training program
-
Experience supporting Cisco wireless environments
-
Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies
-
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
Necessary Special Requirements: Ability to obtain and retain an OITS Security and KCJIS clearances are requirement of employment and continued employment.
