Full Job Description

Job Summary

Aucocisco School in Freeport, ME, is seeking a professional registered nurse who will oversee the health services of the school. This is a part - time contract position with a flexible schedule.

Aucocisco School is a small special purpose private school with up to 25 full time students a year. We have an extraordinary learning environment built for complex learners. We are a neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed school that values each student’s individuality while helping students build the academic, executive functioning, and self-advocacy skills they need for success.

Qualifications:

Valid RN license with the State of Maine with experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
Certified through the Maine Department of Education
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families and other professionals

Responsibilities include:

Onsite 4-5 times during the school year and consult remotely as needed
Functions in accordance with the Standards of Professional School Nursing Practice,, Federal and State statutes that impact school nursing practice.
Maintain accurate, confidential health records
Provide medication training and oversight for unlicensed staff.
Provides vision and hearing screenings to students
Communicates essential health information to staff

Schedule:

Flexible schedule with monthly retainer.

Education:

BSN from an accredited college or university

Requirements:

Valid State of Maine Nursing License
Minimum 2 years experience as a registered nurse
Certificate from the Maine Department of Education
Maine Department of Education CHRC background
