Position Overview
The Employee Communications Coordinator supports the Human Resources team by serving as a primary point of communication for employee separations and workplace concerns. This role is responsible for communicating termination decisions to hourly employees in a professional, respectful, and empathetic manner while ensuring consistency with company policy and HR guidance. This is a fully onsite position. Employees are expected to work onsite at the designated Alto location during scheduled working hours.

This position also manages HR related Zendesk tickets, responds to employee inquiries, and escalates workplace concerns to senior HR team members when appropriate.

The Employee Advocate does not conduct employee relations investigations, determine disciplinary outcomes, or make final employment decisions.

What You’ll Do:

Employee Separation Communication

Communicate separation decisions to hourly employees as directed by HR leadership.
Conduct separation conversations in a professional, respectful, and empathetic manner.
Provide employees with general next-step information regarding final pay, company property return, and offboarding procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation related to separation communications.

Employee Support & Workplace Concerns

Serve as a frontline point of contact for employee questions and workplace concerns.
Curated responses to employee inquiries through Zendesk and other communication channels.
Escalate sensitive employee relations concerns to HR Generalists or HR leadership as appropriate.
Maintain confidentiality while handling employee information and workplace concerns.
Support employees with general HR process navigation and resource guidance.

HR Administrative Support

Maintain organized documentation related to employee communications and case tracking.
Assist with tracking and updating employee status changes as directed by HR leadership.
Support HR administrative projects and employee communication initiatives as needed.
Manage employee cases in Zendesk while maintaining compliance with departmental SLAs for response times, follow-up, and resolution tracking.
Work cross-functionally across departments with an expectation to become highly proficient in various platforms and internal systems.

What you bring to the table

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in Human Resources, employee support, customer service, or employee-facing operations required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain policies and employment decisions clearly and professionally.
Ability to communicate empathetically in difficult or sensitive conversations.
Experience managing multiple priorities and responding to high-volume communications.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalism in sensitive situations.
Experience with Zendesk or other ticketing platforms preferred.
Proficiency in Google Workspace.
Friendly, calm, and professional demeanor.
High integrity and sound judgment.
