Full Job Description

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
This position reports to the Lead RBT and Administrator.

Qualifications:

Registered Behavior Technician must be at least 21 years of age or older, have a high school diploma or GED, and have a minimum of 1 year experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Direct Care Lead Staff must also have certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) within 60 days of employment or be either a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) or a Qualified Behavior Modification Professional (QBMP). The Registered Behavior Technician Staff must also possess the following:

Successfully complete and pass the tests for DSP I and II, or pass the challenge test, prior to or within one year of employment
Fingerprint clearance
Current First- Aid and CPR, Certification through an online course will not be accepted. Training must be obtained through in-person class attendance that includes hands-on instruction Current certification of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training as per EBSH regulations
Current certification of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training ( can be earned on the job)
Current State of California issued driver’s license and proof of current car insurance
Proof of good physical health verified by a health screening, including a test for tuberculosis, performed under the supervision of a physician not more than one year prior to or seven days after employment or licensure.
Training, as required, to implement the health care plan for a resident with a restricted health condition and mental health needs, if applicable.
Knowledge of the requirements for providing the type of care and supervision needed by residents living in the home and the ability to communicate with such residents

Duties:

Follow physicians' orders, including administration of medication and other treatment
Ensure all medical and medication policies are being adhered to; check in medication; check physicians’ orders; ensure proper documentation
Implement approved emergency procedures in the event of a fire, earthquake or other natural disaster
Participate in the development and subsequent updating of the IPP/ISP/IBSP/Individual Emergency Intervention Plan (IEIP)
Provide transportation to medical, dental and mental health appointments; forensic (court, probation officer) visits, substance abuse classes (AA, NA, other support groups) community outings and as otherwise outlined in the IPP, ISP and IBSP
Maintain a record of medical, dental and mental health visits, current weight, medication dosage, frequency and times of administration, reasons for medications, side effects, illnesses, injuries, special incidents, P&I funds and personal possessions
Ensure each resident is engaged in daily activities within the home environment and community including skill building, recreational and socialization skills
Ensure staff understand and can implement daily activity plans.
Ensure meals are prepared in accordance to posted menus
Ensure house values are followed and updated as needed by residents via a resident council meeting.
Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment
Attend staff meetings and participate in continuing education
Maintain daily notes in accordance with Title 17/22, and other daily data collection as outlined in this facility program plan/program design and as prescribed by the IBST.
Perform selected administrative duties as assigned

Duties:

Attend to the needs of each resident, including assisting them with grooming, bathing, hygiene, toileting, and feeding.
Support the needs and goals of each resident by taking them to medical, dental and mental health appointments, to visit family and friends, to preferred leisure/recreational activities, and by encouraging them to socialize with peers.
Follow all physicians' orders, including the administration of medication.
Ensure the resident is engaged in daily activities within the home environment and community including skill building, therapeutic, recreational and socialization training. Daily activities will be based on person centered planning and documented in the IBSP.
Provide updates to the mental health specialist regarding status and on-going needs
Implement all recommendations provided by the attending mental health specialist.
Implement approved emergency procedures in the event of a fire, earthquake or other natural disaster.
Participate in the implementation of the IPP/ISP/IEIP
Receive training as outlined in the IPP/ISP/IBSP/IEIP
Maintain a record of mental health, medical and dental visits, current weight, medication (dosage, frequency and times of administration, reasons for medications, (side effects), illnesses, injuries, special incidents, P&I funds and personal possessions.
Ensure meals are prepared in accordance with posted menus.
Ensure house values are followed and updated as needed by residents
Purchase food and supplies as instructed by the Administrator.
Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment by cleaning the home, informing the Administrator about any broken/inoperable items, locking up medication and toxic chemicals, and reporting any problems that could cause injuries or illness
Report special incidents and suspected resident abuse to your Administrator

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
